OMG! My house is a wreck and it's 3 days until GNO!

Yep, I did it. I invited my whole Girls Night Out group to come to my house on Saturday night for homemade lasagna and the works. I don't mind if the house is in some sort of "organized chaos" but my kids have NO IDEA what that is!!! In their eyes, if the house is clean, it's their job to mess it up. Thank goodness my husband lets me get a maid twice a week. Do you think they would arrest me if I duck taped the kids to their bedroom doors so that they couldn't mess up my house? It would only be for 3 days or so. Naturally I'd take them down to go to school and all but they couldn't mess up the house. Just joking!

Seriously though, we are trying to teach our children to be more responsible and to pick up after themselves but nothing we do is very effective (well, only if you count their Daddy threatening to get them with the belt - THAT WORKS!). But you don't want to have to spank them just to get them motivated - there has to be something else. Anybody got any ideas? I just want a somewhat straight house. I'm not asking for perfection...

No idea here girl other than to let that notion fly out the window like we did about 3 months ago. I'm currently looking at disaster in my living room that is of epic proportions. But, my plan is always to deal with it tomorrow. You know?

And don't worry about GNO because if your house is a mess, I'll feel more at home. Seriously.

Thanks! Marina is at the house today but I know that it'll be a wreck when I get in tonight. I'm playing Bunko with Lil Abe and her husband and kids are going out to play with my husband and kids. They're feeding the kids pizza and I know that the playroom will be a wreck. Well, at least I can shut that door and no one will have to look at it. And Marina is coming back on Saturday - yippee!!!! You still coming over to help me get some food ready on Saturday? Yeah, I'm holding you to it! BTW, did you ever get that recipe from BFF? That BLT dip?

I must say that I am soooo disappointed you didn't tell me that you had a blog! I had to hear it thru the grapevine. You are doing a GREAT job with it. It is very entertaining. Don't worry about the house. You have seen mine. I agree with Afro that I will feel more at home. Please let me know if I can help you with anything!!

If you want to bring an appetizer I certainly wouldn't object but it is not necessary! Thank you so much! (Ok, I just felt like Brenda Lee Johnson in The Closer when I said that!) :-P
