This has been a semi crazy week. I picked up the kids, Chap & Sister, on Sunday from the grandparents and drove home - 1 1/2 hours. That was not fun. While eating supper the phone rang. Knowing exactly who it was (my parents - grandparents that kept the kids) and knowing that they don't give up, I answered it. I get the shocking news that my uncle's ex-wife had just died of a massive heart attack at the age of 54. Their only daughter was absolutely crushed. She got married a little over a year ago and has an adorable little boy who's 1st birthday was on the Friday before his grandmother passed away. I have a feeling that his birthday will always be a bittersweet event.
Since I work at a college in a small town, all of the students and teachers have been out all week. It's been sorta quiet and slow but not completely. I had plenty to keep me busy - help desk tickets, a training class to teach and of course, the ex-aunt's funeral.
I am just wondering if anyone else out there has ever had to teach someone else about something and they go in thinking, "I know this stuff and it should be a breeze" but once they get in there, the learner throws several curve balls at you that you have never done mainly because it's sorta out of the scope of what you would normally do during a business day. This happened to me today and I felt like such a dumb ass! I thought to myself that maybe I should be the one going to classes to learn this stuff.
Then, this afternoon was getting supper ready, an idea hit me. What if I started a blog site something like this and I post tips on different MS programs that we use on campus on a daily basis? Then I could get faculty and staff to subscribe and they would get an email everyday when I posted a new tip. Right now it's just an idea that I'm thinking about. Let me know what you guys think...Need input.
